Fallen Brother and hero
To honor the memory of the Florida upsilon brothers who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country we have created THE EHREN MURBURG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. Ehren is the latest Florida Upsilon brother to lose his life in service to his country. This memorial scholarship will provide the dual purpose of 1) eternally memorializing our fallen brothers and 2) providing financial support for returning Veterans to pursue their academic endeavors at the University of Florida.
The Veteran’s Bridge Scholarship was established by SAE alumnus Lt. Gen. John Le Moyne and the student veteran leadership at the University of Florida and Santa Fe College. The scholarship is to help close the financial gap facing veterans upon transitioning from the military to college life.
SAE’s goal is to create the named scholarship in honor of our brother with the State of Florida Scholarship Foundation. With donations from active brothers and alumni, a permanent “Ehren Murburg Scholarship” has been established. Since 2010 the fund has awarded a grant each year to a returning veteran to help pay for the recipient’s first semester fees and books. This grant is a one time award for their first school term as a veteran at the University of Florida or Santa Fe College.
